Community News: Tonight in the Auditorium!



The 5/6 Elementary Basketball games scheduled for today have been canceled and will be rescheduled. 3/4 will still play in the Pittsburg Tournament.


The 3/4 boys and girls teams both won today. They will continue on in the Pittsburg Tournament tomorrow starting at 10am.


IHS Juniors and Seniors are taking a tour with GEAR UP today at the University of Tulsa. Such a beautiful campus with friendly hosts.





Elementary will play tomorrow in the Pittsburg tournament starting at noon. They will eat lunch before they go. All will be back in time to ride buses home EXCEPT 5/6 grade boys. They will need a ride home from school. They should return around 3:30.


Progress Reports are being sent home with students today!


FCCLA Cookie Dough will be delivered tomorrow. Students need to make arrangements to pick up orders tomorrow. Mrs. Lott will be at the school until 6:00pm.

Practice Dates are Nov 3rd and Nov 7th, both 3:15 - 5:00pm.

Little cheerleaders will be provided snacks while they are at camp and a t-shirt and poms for the performance.
Cost is $40 per cheerleader or $30 per cheerleader if you have more than one cheerleader attending camp. All payments are due before camp begins.

Community News- 4TH ANNUAL “EVENING IN INDIANOLA” SET FOR THURSDAY OCTOBER 20, 2022
The 4th Annual “Evening in Indianola”, entertainment/program benefitting the Indianola Community and Senior Citizens Center along with the Choate Prairie and Indianola Cemeteries has been scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2022 beginning with a 6:00 p.m. dinner/ reception at the Indianola School Auditorium.
This year’s special program is entitled “CHITTO HARJO and the ORPHANS OF SCIPIO CREEK.”
The presentation will remind us of Chitto Harjo the Creek Indian known as “Crazy Snake” and his complicated role in Oklahoma history and specifically how a local Choctaw family linked with Harjo orphaned four children near Scipio Creek and the fascinating lives that ensued.
Joining in the program will be Dr. Kenny Brown, retired Professor of History at the University of Central Oklahoma, now of Colorado, along with the Indianola area’s “Circuit Riders” band.
The “Evening in Indianola” is an annual benefit supporting the work of the Indianola Community and Senior Citizens Center and the Choate Prairie and Indianola Cemeteries. There is a $10 per person admission fee ($5.00 5-11 years) for the evening program. In addition, there will the opportunity for on-site “annual giving” for the three charitable organizations.
